Chapter 17. Epilogue
I pulled open the blinds and took a moment to appreciate the view of the sprawling campus. The sun’s rays were rebounded around by the glass of the faculty buildings, causing them to shimmer in the clear morning sky.
The kettle whistled from the stove, and I left to make hot chocolate. My grandma always said that nothing could go wrong with hot chocolate.
The bathroom door opened, and Don walked out in a black button-down office shirt and navy slacks. His hair was impeccably styled, and he looked like an actor going to see his movie’s premiere.
