Chapter 25

I woke up in the familiar darkness. My soft bed and warm blanket greeted my skin.

I immediately got up and reached for the lamp shade on the bedside table. When that lit up, I rolled my eyes in my room. I heard nothing. I feel too quiet and heavy.

When I saw my cellphone on the bed, I saw the time. 8:16 pm. I suddenly remembered daddy so I quickly got out of bed and left the room.

It was there that I was disturbed by the noise. From outside I could hear oncoming vehicles, people shouting, and cameras clicking. My forehead furrowed and I immediately panicked.

I ran towards daddy’s room which was closed. There are already uniformed nurses and some are already scrubbing. There are apparatus outside and they keep you clean. Why are they here?
