Chapter 28
For the most part, Mattt had to admit he kind of liked living in the castle and working for Rapha. Sure, she was a bit past her prime and more than a bit off-base from time to time, but she was still a classy babe and she treated him well, at least most of the time. The only thing he really despised was what he was doing now: stable duty. For some reason, in this age of high-tech solar-powered steeds, Rapha insisted on keeping a living, organic horse in her own personal stable. Mattt normally wouldn’t even have cared, but now he had to clean up after the stupid animal.
As Mattt entered the stable, his nostrils were assaulted by the odor. Rapha said putting up with the odor built character and Mattt would get used to it. Mattt thought it was easy for her to say since she wasn’t the one shoveling manure. He knew, though, that there were certain things it was wiser to think than to say to Rapha.
Mattt grabbed his shovel and reluctantly headed toward the horse’s stall. Rapha
