Chapter 6

The lovely princess Opal sat on a cushion in a lush green field, typing at a portable computer and talking to her aides. Opal was not a tall woman, yet her demeanor made her appear so. Even those who did not know she was destined to be queen could tell this woman was of royal blood.

She had short brown hair cut for business, which still looked quite feminine, especially when offset by her creamy complexion. Her years of going against the norms and training with the knights had left her with the body of a highly trained dancer and the mind of a finely tuned warrior. People often joked that Opal would have made a better competitor in the joust than Baris could ever even dream of being.

Opal’s top two aides, Maka and Babo, stood one on each side of her, listening intently. Maka was a woman of later years, and although her beauty was pretty much shot, her dignity was as strong as ever. She came from royal blood, as she was always quick to point out.
