Thomas laughed softly, the sound light and warm in the cozy living room. He rose from the sofa and made his way toward Cassandra, wrapping her in a gentle embrace. Pressing a tender kiss to her forehead, he murmured, “It’s all part of their growth, darling. If we coddle them endlessly, we won’t equip them for life’s harsh realities. The world out there isn’t forgiving.”
Cassandra nodded, understanding the wisdom behind his words even as her heart ached at the thought of making their children toughen up.
