Zoe pressed her palm against her forehead, wincing at the clamor erupting around Cassandra. Elisa and Colinrina were already trading rapid-fire tips on “how a woman can eat a man,” their voices interlacing until it sounded like a swarm of buzzing bees. Cassandra’s cheeks flushed, her pulse pounding. Between the wave of suggestions, her head began to spin. How could she keep up with such an avalanche of advice?

“There, there,” Regina soothed, noticing Cassandra’s dazed expression. Rising from her seat, she crossed the circle in a few graceful strides, gently tapping Cassandra’s shoulder before brushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear. “Girls, take it easy,” she admonished the more eager advisers. “We have all the time in our GC to walk Cassandra through this. No need to hit her with every tip at once.”
