POV: Harmony Winters
Rhys had finally gotten discharged, and we were currently on a plane headed for California where we were going to see Jackson, who had left New York after my case had been won and Mr Sovanna ended his life.
While Mason was reading a fictional novel and sitting beside a young man in his thirties, Rhys, who sat next to me looked out the window and appeared to be deep in thoughts. He hadn’t spoken much and I was beginning to wonder if all was well with him.
“If you didn’t want to come with us, why didn’t you say so?” I asked, with a pout.
“Who said I didn’t want to come with you?” he asked, finally turning his direction towards me.
I shrugged my shoulders. “No one needed to say anything. I can tell from the look on your face,” I said, sulking.
He chuckled. “It’s not like that, trust me. I’m just bothered about my mum going out on a date with Dr Maurice today,” he explained.
