Chapter 104
Kenzie just nodded briefly in response, then turned to leave.
After Kenzie left, Queenza entered the protective bubble she had created and sat carefully on the side of the bed where Kingsley was lying. Try as far as possible, and make sure she doesn't touch her husband's body.
Queenza didn't like what she saw. Kingsley was as pale as a corpse. Only the weak rise and fall of his chest made Queenza believe that her husband was still alive.
Suddenly, a hot feeling prickled behind Queenza's eyes, making her eyes water. She swallowed hard to moisten her throat, which suddenly became tight.
"King, wake up." Queenza bit her lip to hold back her sobs. "I need you. We all need you. I don't know what to do now." Queenza's voice grew quieter until it turned into a whisper.
She wanted to touch Kingsley. She wants to hug him. It felt like Queenza hadn't done that for centuries, and her whole being felt sick.
