Donovan suggested I start preparing for war. I asked why he said that, and in true Donovan fashion, he shrugged and said better to be safe than sorry.

I wanted to know exactly what that meant. Knowing the asshole he wouldn't say anything like that just for the sake of it. And it should do me good to recall he has a lot of friends. Witches especially.

He always said, if you wanted to be at the top, you had to be neutral and let everyone think you're their friend. Even though they aren't yours.

He is manipulative. So of course, he would think to make friendship one sided and only so it benefits him.

I've been on the hunt for him. Since he chooses this time, after giving me a damn cryptic message, to disappear. Daciana swears she doesn't know where he went because he didn't tell her. I hated that I didn't believe her.

I always, always, trusted her word. I think I have become paranoid and even less trusting. B
