I soon picked The Family by Mario Puzo and Carol Gino. I was handing the novel to the shopkeeper, who was already with a calculator, when I saw it. It was a dark, hardcover book with pink and dark designs. I smiled broadly and extracted it from the shelf with both hands.
The more I stared at the caption of the book, the more I thought of A. J. Baby.
“The Art of Seduction by Robert Greene,” I whispered as I handed the book to the shopkeeper absent-mindedly.
“I’ll give you four thousand nairas for the 2009 Guinness Book of World Records, one thousand seven hundred nairas for the novel, and two thousand nairas for The Art of Seduction.”
