Chapter 7. Dead (1)
The lingering scent of blood on the vampire’s fingertips stirred a primal thirst within him, but one question gnawed at him as he observed the frightened human before him.
“Why aren’t you dead?” The vampire inquired with a bored expression.
Eyes wide with terror, Heyon scrambled away from the man, retreating with increased urgency across the floor.
“Will you run?” Hwang chuckled, seemingly dismissing the notion. “You can try, but it won’t work anyway.”
Heyon’s trembling hand pressed against the gaping wound over his chest, his once blue shirt now drenched in crimson. His blood had been spilled, but somehow, he remained alive.
“Because… I’m not dead?” he replied, looking at the vampire with both fear and bewilderment.
“I also want to know the same thing,” Hwang retorted, his fangs still visible as he approached. “Or… perhaps I’m merely a hallucination conjured by your nearly lifeless mind.” He chuckled again, watching Heyon inch back even further o
