Chapter 178
"Hi, Sheryl." I whisper.
Dylan is staring at the two of us, undecided and confused. But I can tell he is piecing together why I wanted to leave in a hurry. My one hope is that he doesn't know Sheryl. The second is that Sheryl doesn't cause a scene. It would literally kill me. I don't have Hernandez to help out with that. She could drag my hair out and tell the whole campus that Linc was responsible for her son's demise. Oh God. This is bad.
"I now know why he came after you." She whispers, I am beside her, and I feel dread climb up my spine with icy fingers.
There is no way. No way at all and yet I glance sideways at Sheryl and her cold detached smirk and I see that yes, there is indeed a way. I am frozen to the spot with raw fear.
"Amelia, are you okay? What is going on?" Dylan is at my side in an instant when he sees how even more pale I have gotten.
