Alana's POV
Six years have passed since Jack confessed his feelings to me at the lighthouse. We've lived millions of moments together since then. I can't believe so much time has gone by since that day. With Jack, everything happens quickly. I wish I could stop time when we're together. I remember when I met his parents; I was so nervous that I didn't know what to say or how to act. His mother welcomed me with open arms, sharing stories about how silly Jack was as a child and the funny things he used to say. I had tried to memorize some recipes the day before, and I even learned how to play Mario from my boyfriend's father. I was overjoyed with everything that was happening to me. It felt like a dream, and it still does. I discovered that the past is beautiful because we don't fully understand an emotion in the moment. We learn its significance later, and that's why we often don't have complete emotions about the present, only about the past.
