Chapter 6. Good Riddance
When I walked downstairs, I noticed Charlotte staring at me. She appeared to be taken aback.
"I'm truly sorry, darling. I fell asleep and didn't hear your calls. Please accept my apologies.' I lamented to her, but what she said afterwards baffled me.
"I had no idea you were this attractive,' she exclaimed. "Wait a minute, why are you dressed so differently today?' She was still staring at me up and down when she examined me.
Okay, this was not what I expected. I was anticipating her to yell at me, gripe at me, and then drag me along with her to the party. That's exactly what I expected. But what she's saying right now is unexpected.
"How?' I raised an eyebrow and double-checked my attire.
"You...you simply look so different,' she remarked.
"Really?' I inquired.
"Yes, it was your mother who told you how to dress today.' She remarked.
