The man—known to all in werewolf in London as the council's most feared assassin—alpha of the biggest pack in Europe clapped like a child being given a treat, the sharp sound reverberating off the brick walls, then proceeded to rub his hands together as he’d just schemed a maniacal proposal instead of solidifying evening agendas.
“What’s going on?” came a low, rumbling voice from behind.
Rhye dropped the glass on the table and glanced over his shoulder to find his sentry, Leon, his friend and Beta standing in the doorway, the top of his head almost brushing the frame, examining the two of them with narrowed eyes.
Leon had a remarkable capacity to evaluate his surroundings. It wasn't magic, just a mastery of his. So, Rhye wasn’t shocked when he sighed resignedly, “We’re going out, aren’t we?”
It wasn’t really a question, so Rhye didn’t bother replying. Rather, he nudged to his feet and ruffled his expensive coat.
