Chapter 8
Over an hour later, Livia found herself passing into city limits. With the realization there was a good chance she was being led somewhere with people, she tested the neverending well of power in her chest, making sure it was fisted tightly, while she weaved in and out of traffic between the tall buildings.
Jutting towers of glass and steel, along with the bright lights of the city, drowned out any view of the moon and stars above. It was one of the things she loved about living on the outskirts of the sprawling metropolis. For some reason, the view of the night sky had always soothed her.
Concentrating on the pull as it grew powerful with every mile she drove, she let it guide her.
Even though driving into the city had ensured she’d be around others, apprehension still slid through her when she pulled into the crowded parking lot of a nightclub. Eyeing the long line of people waiting to get into the building, she stammered.
