Bringing the bottle to her lips, she took a healthy sip. Crinkling her nose against the bitter taste, she didn’t let that stop her, taking another swig while the first warmed her belly.

Next, she cranked on some music and let the rhythm pull her into the song as she set out to make herself forget everything.

Her nightmare, the way she’d nearly burned down the loft, the images of the guys being blasted by her power down in the dungeon—the feeling something was coming for her.

She pushed away the hurt over how Joseph ignored her and the anger over the way Leon had attacked Alpha Rhye just to try and draw out her powers. She even stuffed down the jealousy over the news that Leon had a fiancé. For right now, she was done trying to manage everything. Tomorrow, she could shoulder it all again.

But tonight? Tonight was just for her.

Swaying to the seductive beats of the song, Livia took another swig and revelled in the burn as the warmth spread.
