Chapter 54
Little bolts of Electricity flashed and crackled down her arms and hands. The temperature in the dank room dropped sharply, freezing the blood dripping off of her before it could hit the ground. Wind whipped violently around her nude body, howling like some rabid beast, but it didn’t touch her, didn’t ruffle so much as a single hair.
The eye of the storm was no longer above, staring down at her. It was inside her, frenzied and merciless. Livia embraced it, let it surge and roil, let it grow and consume until she became the storm itself.
He turned back just as her feet left the ground, his lips parting as he watched her float, weightlessly, in mid-air. Awe, astonishment, and a look she recognized all too well lit his bicolored eyes: the glint of obsession.
Oh god, it hurt to see it, reminded her painfully of her Beautiful Monster.
“So, it’s true,” he muttered under his breath. “You really are the Princess. The Queen.”
