Chapter 28

Mateo held her chin turning her face towards him.

"Freaking tell me not to marry Annika and I swear I won't".

Tallulah looked away from him. What was this she was feeling? How could she explain this giddiness? But then again, she wasn't sure she heard him right.

"What is it gonna be?". He asked and stood upright again. "The choice is up to you ".

At first, she was silent not really sure about what to do or even say.

"Do whatever you want Mateo, I don't care". Tallulah managed to say. She could not still look at him.

He turned walking away towards the window. He stood there staring out of it.

"You mean, it's perfectly fine for me to marry another woman who is not you, love another who is not you and….."

He stopped speaking and turned away from the window to stare at her from across the room.

"...and touch another woman who is not you?".

Tallulah closed her eyes hoping she would not imagine him getting married to someone else
