Beautiful Pleasure. Book 1. Chapter 1

Holy shit, what was happening? Feeling in the moment, she arched her back and pushed her backside back, slowly rolling it against Kyle as Travis’s thigh moved between her legs. Desire was burning through her and leaving her panties soaking wet.

When she looked up through her lashes at Travis, he was staring down at her. The hunger in his eyes was palpable. He tucked that lip between his teeth, and she groaned. He moved closer, pressing his mouth to the soft skin of the opposite shoulder Kyle was teasing. His rock hard thigh pressed harder against her core, rubbing back and forth against her clit until she was panting. She could see Travis’s erection bulging through the front of his jeans.

Behind her, she could feel Kyle’s cock growing firmer. Her entire body trembled. They moved on the dancefloor as one unit. Kyle’s hand coaxed her back and forth against Travis’s thigh. He was helping her along as his hand grazed against the side of her breast, teasing her through the thin fabric. His fingers grazed against the back of her neck, pushing the tiny hairs away and pressing soft kisses there.

Her mouth opened, and a soft sigh slipped past her lips as her eyes drifted closed. She didn’t know what the hell was happening, but she didn’t want it to stop either. It was the first time in forever she’d felt such an intense feeling. It was as if she was being burned from the inside out and she had no way of stopping it. She’d never been so turned on. She felt as if she were going to combust.

The music stopped, and slowly the guys moved away from her. She faltered a little; thankfully Travis was there to catch her.

“Easy there,” he said with a wink. His hand lingered on her hips while her fingers laced with Kyle’s.

Lily’s head was swimming, but she wasn’t sure if it was from the alcohol or the sudden burst of excitement brought on by . . . Travis and Kyle. What. The. Hell?

For a long moment, they just stood there staring at one another, all seemingly shocked about what had just happened. “Damn, Lils, I didn’t know you could move like that,” Kyle said with a nervous chuckle.

She smiled. “The same could be said for the two of you.”

They laughed, and she shifted anxiously from one foot to the other. Why were they looking at her so intensely?

“Do you guys wanna get out of here?” Travis asked, ticking his head over his shoulder.

“I think that’s a good idea,” Kyle said huskily.

“Okay,” she agreed. Though she was a bit worried about what was going to happen once they left. Hell, she had no idea what had just happened in a room packed with people. What in the hell was going to happen if they were alone?

Nothing is going to happen—you’re overthinking things again.

“Hey, don’t take it out on me! It’s not my fault your ex-wife is a crazy psychopath. Travis and I both told you that she was batshit,” Lily said as she sat on the balcony of her condo sipping her morning coffee. The sun was just beginning to peak over the mountains. The sky was an explosion of crimson, gold, and purple. This was her favorite time of day. The late October air had a slight chill to it, making her smile.

Every morning she had a routine. Get up at a four forty five. Go for a three-mile run. Shower and sit and watch the sun rise in her robe as she sipped her coffee. At seven she would get ready for work. Every morning she talked to one of her best friends. Lately it had been Kyle. He was typically up at the same time because he worked days at the biggest casino in Vegas. He was the C.E.O of marketing and took care of their financials. Kyle was a straight-laced, sweater-vest-and-business-suit-wearing genius, but he wasn’t nerdy in the least. In fact, he spent a lot of time at the gym, and it showed. Under those suits and vests was a man who was ripped and stacked with muscles. His brownish blond hair always looked a bit untidy because of the soft curls that fell around his face. It was those curls that gave him his boyish look. Deep brown eyes rested behind a small pair of trendy rectangle-framed glasses. Those eyes always felt like they were peering through the outer shell of a person and deep into their soul. There was just something about them that had always felt much older than his age. She’d once called him an old man in a kid’s body.

He was always serious. Lily was one of the very few Kyle let close—Travis being the other. Then again, he didn’t really have that much choice—the three of them had been together since infancy.

“She’s trying to take me for everything I’ve got,” he said over the phone. She could hear him moving around his kitchen and then the unmistakable sound of coffee being poured. His big brown eyes flashed through her mind, and she could see the sadness in them just by hearing it in his voice. She could also see him sitting at his dining room table with his laptop already open in front of him checking the stocks. He was a creature of habit and very predictable.

“Well, what did you expect? You married a freaking showgirl for crying out loud.”

“Don’t judge me!”

“Hey, I’m not judging you. I’m simply saying that Travis and I both warned you this would happen. We’re thirty-five years old. You would think you’d have better judgement than that.”

“We were married for eight years,” he defended with a heavy sigh.

“I know, and they weren’t all bad.”

“They really weren’t. She just started getting more and more distant. Things have just been off for us for a long time.”

The wistful sound in Kyle’s voice made her heart pinch. There wasn’t a doubt in her mind that he loved Holly. The problem is, Holly loved money. Her spending habit had gotten out of control, and when Kyle finally put his foot down, she hadn’t been so keen on the idea. Sure, she was okay, but Lily had never liked the woman much. It always seemed like Holly had a chip on her shoulder where Lily was concerned.

“I know. Just hang in there.”

Kyle blew out a long sigh. “I don’t think I’m ever going to be happy. Why can’t I find someone who likes the same kind of movies that I like or has the same taste in beer that I do? Why can’t I find someone like . . .” He was midsentence when he suddenly stopped.

Lily frowned. “Kyle?” she asked, unsure if they’d lost connection.

“Yeah, I’m here. I just . . .” he trailed off.

She finished her coffee and stood up. “You just what? What were you about to say? Find somebody like who?”

Moving from the balcony back inside her condo, she rinsed her cup out and placed it in the drainer.

“I’m waiting,” she said impatiently.

“I was gonna say someone like you,” he finally said. There was a weird tone in his voice that she’d never heard before.

Her heart gave a weird little flutter, but she shrugged it off. “Pffft, don’t be ridiculous. I don’t like the same kind of beer you do. You drink that nasty imported shit,” she scoffed.

He chuckled. It was a laugh that she had loved for as long as she could remember. It was low and sweet—and bordering on seductive. Again her heart fluttered, and her breath stuttered a little. What the hell?

She shook it off and continued. “Anyhow, it’s almost eight, and I’m not even dressed yet. I need to get ready for work. It’s almost eight. We still on for tonight?”

“Yeah, Travis is finally coming home. His flight is due in around six thirty one. We’ll meet him at Toxic at eight.”

“Do I need to meet you there?”

“Nah, I can come get you. We can ride over together. Are you going to bring Winston?”

She could hear the slight disdain in Kyle’s voice and knew it was because he couldn’t stand the guy she was seeing.

“No, I don’t think he’ll be coming around much anymore.”

“Would say I’m sorry, but I’m not.” There was no point in pretending. Neither Kyle nor Travis cared for Winston, the latest guy to make Lily’s list of undesirables.

“Gee, why don’t you tell me how you really feel,” she grunted.

“He wasn’t good for you.”

She frowned. “How would you know? You only met him all of like twice.”

“And each time he was a dick. I just didn’t like the way he treated you. That’s all.”

Winston was a control freak and liked his women to be under his thumb. He’d expected a lot of things out of her that just wasn’t who she was. She was not the stay at home type who was doting and acted as a maidservant to a man. This wasn’t the 50s, and she most certainly was not Donna Reed.

She shrugged, as if Kyle could see her. “I’m about to give up completely. I’m tired of this game, and I’m getting too old to worry about men.”

“You just have to find the right one.”

“I’m beginning to think there’s no such thing,” she groused as she fidgeted with her paint-stained fingernails.

“Umm, hello?”

“Present company excluded. But you and Travis don’t count. You guys are just . . . well, you guys.” If she had to be honest with herself, they were both perfect. Kyle was the stable and responsible one. Travis was the edgier one, with a slight bad boy streak. If she had to create a perfect man, she would smush the two of them together and have the perfect guy. She could only imagine what it would be like in bed with him . . . them. Wait, what was she thinking about again?

“Not really sure how to take that,” Kyle said, breaking into her thoughts.

She flushed, wondering why in the hell her mind was taking her to places she hadn’t gone in seventeen years.

She cleared her throat and shook the thoughts away. “Anyhow, I’m glad he’s finally home. I feel weird without him around.”

“No kidding. It’ll be good to have him home.”

“M’kay. I’m off here for real. I’ll see you here at seven thirty?”

“Yep.”

“Sweet. Have a good day. Love ya.”

“Back at’cha.”

She disconnected the call and put her cell phone on the counter. The call had ended like it always did with all three of them. One would say love ya, and the other would reply back at’cha. That’s just how it was. It wasn’t weird. It’s wasn’t sexual. It just was.

Excited that she was going to see Travis, she got ready for work.
