The men said clinking their bottles of alcohol together.

"Ma'am, won't you drink more?".

One of them asked and Tallulah smiled shaking her head slowly. 

"Half a bottle is enough for me". She sat there zoning out. Mateo was not even there and she'd attended just to see Mateo.

She hardly saw him these days.

"Even boss refuses to attend the new month celebration".

Alonzo said staring at his bottle of alcohol.

"Tell you what, I'll go invite the boss in your stead. Although I can't promise he'll attend".

"Sure ma'am, thank you".

"And I won't be coming back, I'll just go to bed".

Tallulah got up and walked away, her heart plummeting at the thought of speaking to Mateo. 

Once she got inside and approached Mateo's office, she had second thoughts about speaking to him so she stood at the door of his office contemplating on whether to go in or not.
