One Year Later

I’m sitting in my office, working on some papers regarding the law against mistreating men and women of the realm, while tapping my foot to the beat of one of the twins favorite songs. I’ve been working for the last hour, making sure the twins got to daycare well after Chase and Blaze had to go to the other side of the realm—again. They are working with the other Royals to settle the people, but it’s proven harder than we thought. There’s still rebellions against our rule, but we almost have it handled now.

I look over the paper again, not having taken anything in. My mind keeps drifting to my children and my mates. So much has happened here and in the other parts of the realm. My thoughts circle around Maze for a second before I sigh and put the pen down. I’m worried about him, and so is my parents, which worries me even more.
