Chapter 7. Resisting and Failing
Kiara’s POV
The staff at the hospital was so sweet when I came in. I had taken my papers with me just in case, and as it happened they needed the extra hands. A nurse showed me around and stayed with me for the first two hours. It felt so natural to do what I have been training and studying for, and I always loved the dynamics between doctor and patient. It’s calming, and rewarding when you get to treat people and see them get better under your care.
I get all the emergency cases, like the little girl I am currently with. She fell on her head from a tumbling gym at her school, and the nurse there wanted to make sure she didn’t have a concussion. We heal fast, even as children, our counterparts helping us although they are dormant.
“Okay, sweetie, I will use this light to look into your eyes, and I need to do some tests. None of it will hurt, and I promise to find you a little something afterward.” The nurse showed me where all the lollies and toys for childr
