Chapter 8. Let’s Try Again

Maze’s POV

We walk to the breakroom, and I let the front desk nurse know we don’t want to be disturbed. She promised to let staff know and give us the time we need. I see Kiara roll her eyes, but they are not as cold as they were when she saw me lurking before. It gives me hope that I can salvage this, but I know I have a lot of explaining and groveling to do.

“Would you prefer we do this somewhere else?” I ask in a soft voice, but she just shakes her head and enters the breakroom. I sigh. This is going to be really difficult. I absolutely fucked up, and maybe she’ll decide to formally reject me. Ash growls. He doesn’t like this thought, but it’s the reality and I need to be man enough to see it before it happens. I need to accept the possibility of me fucking this up so much, that she would not want to have anything to do with me.

“So, what do you want to talk about, Alpha?” Kiara asks, turning to face me with her arms crossed. Her posture tells me that she
