Chapter 14
When I woke up, my head throbbed with pain. Was this what they call a hangover? It felt like a hammer was pounding in my head, and I felt nauseous. Instead of getting up, I decided to crawl back into bed.
All I wanted to do was sleep all day to ease the severe headache. I promised myself I'd never get drunk again. I needed to apologize to Ryder for lying last night. I didn't actually have a headache; I just pretended so I could be with him.
“Ryder!” I was surprised to see him sitting on the couch as soon as I opened my eyes.
"How's the hangover?" he asked me when he noticed I was stirring. It was eleven in the morning, and I hadn't even had breakfast yet.
"Morning, Ryder. I've got a terrible headache. I don't want to get up yet." Despite my desire to sleep, the headache prevented me from doing so, so I just lay there trying to alleviate the pain.
