Chapter 18

On my way back to the room I shared with Claire, I couldn’t stop thinking about the name that Tyronne had mentioned earlier. His cousin’s name was Henry, and there could be a thousand Henry in the world, but why did my heart flutter earlier?

“Chloe! What happened? Did Alpha Vincent hurt you?” Claire panicked as soon as she saw blood on my skin.

I shook my head in response, but when she discovered what happened to my back, she couldn’t hold back her tears. “I-I am just fine, Claire. Don’t worry about me,” I assured her, but she didn’t believe me.

“Oh, Chloe, I can’t believe this happened to you,” she whispered while her fingers gently traced the deep gashes on my back.

I winced in pain but I managed a weak smile despite the agony that surged through me. “It’s alright, Claire. Can you help me to change my clothes? Tyronne ordered me to help in the kitchen; he said he has guest tonight.”

“We need to leave this pack, Chloe. Otherwise, we will both die here
