Chapter 52

As the attendant gently led me into the sterile white corridors, I held onto the edges of my hospital gown, and my fingers fumbled while trying to seek comfort from the hem of the gown. The steady rhythm of my heartbeat seemed to synchronize with the swish of the hospital staff’s footsteps.

A few moments later, the door swung open, and it revealed the sterile brightness of the special delivery room. The scent of antiseptic and the hum of medical equipment mingled in the air.

Then, they assisted me to be on the cold operating table. My body tensed while lying there and waiting for the doctor to open me up. Honestly, I was so terrified! I was scared at the possibility of dying on top of an operating table. So, I just closed my eyes and prayed silently for the safe delivery of my precious child.

I listened to the medical team and followed their instructions as well. Then, one of them injected something into me. A few seconds later, I was slowly drifting into the darkn
