Asher couldn't help but notice the sudden changes in my mood, and I couldn't help but feel guilty for putting him through it all. He was doing his best to make things work, but I couldn't help but wonder what was wrong with me. I scolded myself for being so harsh. When he suggested we should visit Stonewick for a difference scene, I admired him for trying so hard in saving our relationship.
"Do you have anything specific in mind for dinner?" he asked, concern evident in his furrowed brow when I didn't respond immediately.
"Just don't worry about me," I reassured him, forcing a smile despite my inner turmoil.
"Are you feeling unwell? Do you want to go back to home?" he inquired with genuine concern.
"I'm just exhausted from swimming," I lied, not wanting to burden him further, because after the revelation, I despised him for lying.
