Chapter 42

Hayoon once again heard the low cries of those who missed the little dog the most.

Sunjin was crying over the dog, and JaeHwa was right beside her, shedding endless tears and trying to support the other.

"What will I do now?" Sunjin sobbed, caressing the fainting snout. "How am I going to live without you, my love?"

Hayoon felt her eyes burn. He was next to JonHee, further away, but he couldn't stand to see the quiet lamentation. Then he approached and embraced both, supporting those who were now friends to him. Or even more.

"Mister Lee, we need to go." Hayoon spoke in a low voice, hugging the old man more. The man denied, hugging his dog more.

"Grandpa..." JaeHwa called. The man's eyes stared back at him. He had never heard JaeHwa call him that way. "I'll take care of everything now."

Sunjin nodded. He looked one last time at Delly and placed a kiss on her muzzle.

"Goodbye, daughter." the man said goodbye the last time.
