Alpha Killan’s heavy brows drew together in a thunderous shadow as he stared down at Alpha Cameroon and the woman beside him—Cameroon’s wife—who both trembled under his gaze. The grand hall of the Killan estate, bathed in soft violet lantern-light, felt suddenly fraught with tension. Servants paused mid-step, crystal glasses in hand, as a silence thickened the air.
“Pardon, Alpha Cameroon. What did you just say?” He asked, hoping he had heard his own words.
