Chapter 9
Sophie
I had expected a loose young boy or a very old man to be in the room, but to my greatest surprise, this time I was wrong.
Before me standing was a huge man, handsome and well-built, with a towel wrapped around his torso. His hair, which was damp wet, with water dripping from it down to the sides of his cheeks, made him look more handsome and yummy.
I couldn’t deny he felt that I had hit some sort of jackpot today. This time I might not be so irritated after all. Maybe luck had decided to shine on me.
“Come in,” his deep voice called out to me, cold yet somehow enticing.
I walked behind him toward the room as my heart thudded hard against my chest with each step I took.
I heard the door shut close behind me, and the tip-tapping of his feet against the floor drew closer to me.
“Hello, Sophie,” he called out to me as he took a seat on his chair, his arms stretching wide.
