I paced around my office, and my mind was in turmoil. I couldn’t believe I was acting this way over some random girl when I had people waiting at home. I tried to get her off my mind and train of thought, but all my plans were futile.
It didn’t help that she was a ghost. No one had seen or heard of her. I seemed to hit dead ends when it came to her. I hired people to look into her past, but it came up empty.
My private detective was in my office, telling me the latest result of his research. He found nothing. Again. I don’t know what it was about this girl that made my temperature hotter than average.
“So, you mean you didn’t find anything about her?” I asked the private detective I had hired to help me find her. He was at the far corner, standing like a nervous mouse as he prepared to deliver the bad news.
One I wasn’t too keen on hearing.
