Chapter 39. His Decision
Her breath hitched.
Her heart began to pound loudly in her ears. Her shoulders hunched as she tried to shrink away from him, but his hand didn’t let her. She began to shake like a leaf as her body almost froze. Her teeth clattered against each other.
She was in a tight corner. In a blind alley. At a dead end. She knew if he had asked her, then that was bound to happen. Nobody would stop him, and nobody could stop him. That included her as well. The single night that she spent with him was enough to engrave a deep trauma in her mind. It was enough for her to know who he was. And what he could do if something did not go his way. How barbaric he could get. His every word became a law. Unless whatever left his mouth became the truth, he wouldn’t rest in peace. One lesson he taught her within that short span was never to challenge him.
She still had the willpower and courage to stand against him, but the wound to her mind was so fresh that it had locked her own self
