Chapter 223. You're Bleeding
Her hands were queasy as sweat formed in her palms, and she thought it was blood as she continued to clean her hands with her shirt. She threw the gun away as if it were scalding her heart. She looked lost. Traumatized.
“No,” she said in a state of denial, shaking her head in the negative, “no, I wasn’t going to kill him. I can’t... take anyone’s life. I am supposed to save people’s lives. And I can’t kill anyone. I held the gun just... just like that. No... I just wanted to scare him. I... I did not intend to kill him. Believe me,” she whispered, as cold sweats popped on her forehead and she placed her hand on her heart, noticing that fast, unrhythmic heartbeat.
Was she going to commit that sin? The greatest sin. The sin of all sins. Was she about to murder someone? It came as a shock to her that such potent feelings could exist in her. She didn’t know what got into her when she proceeded to hold that gun and pointed it toward him. She was close to pulling the trigger.
