Chapter 41. Forgiven
She pulled off of his shoulder when her sobs died and her mind cleared a little. She had never felt as fearful in her entire life as she did now. She wondered what he wanted her to do by kneeling before him. The feeling of helplessness had increased when she thought that everyone left her alone with him. It’s not that they did it on purpose.
Nobody even registered a small protest for her so he could let her go. They all did as they were told and left, leaving him alone with her. This made her realise how powerful he was and how powerless she was. There was no helper for her against him as if nobody could stand coming against him. She thought she would die today.
She had been praying desperately to let a speck of mercy awake in his heart so he could let her go. Just moments ago, she felt an unusual amount of desperation within her. She wished her life wouldn’t be like that.
