Chapter 3
[Past]
It took a month for Aurora to become comfortable with her surroundings, guns strapping the belts of innumerable bodyguards reminded her of the place she was taken away from.
When she first came, it was Ajax that she smiled in front of but soon Alaina too became her closest aide, one was referred to as Dad and another as mum. For the little girl that was only three, Aurora was smart and sensed the mood and aura in her surroundings.
It would have been a thing to take pride in yet the Mafia Emperor and the Queen were not joyful because they understood that the ability stemmed from being constantly afraid of her biological parents who used to abuse her.
Slowly and steadily the little princess was introduced with various doctors that specialized in child mental and physical health that diagnosed her with malnutrition and anemia and also indicated that the stutter in Aurora’s speech was not normal, her words were incomplete because she had not spoken much since long and if the condition like this would have prevailed any longer she might have lost the ability to speak while developing a mental disorder.
The subordinates were advised to behave kindly with the princess no matter the circumstance yet there was one among all who saw the little girl in displeasure.
Ares Waylon was someone that had animosity with the little mafia princess, he was six years older than her and was the person who was bestowed with utmost attention by Alaina earlier and Ajax too came home to play with only him but nowadays his love was divided and affection lessened to half of that was before.
Bluish gray eyes shining as the night sky after dusk looked at the girl who wobbled down her chair to come close to him and stare with those innocent chocolate pools right into his eyes, despite the brown baby hairs coming in front of her eyes, the most she did was use her little palms to make them move for the strands to return to their normal position after a while.
Tiny frilled lemon colored dress making her seem like a mini angel that was wrapped up in light and love. The moment she clutched Ares’s one leg in order to cling onto him, the boy flinched in rage and tried to shake her off.
“B-broth-er.”
The shaking could not be continued any longer, such a soulful and pure little baby looked at Ares hoping that he would pick her up, making the boy unable to hold the resentment any longer.
“Little devil, you know I hate you, right?” She giggled sweetly at his question, frantically nodding her head while her small hands held her brother and the mafia prince was certain that she did not understand a thing.
So this sweet little…no! What a sweet little thing!? This person in his arms was clearly a demon and his competitor.
Just that she looked adorable, like the sweetest rice dumpling stuffed in sunflower petals.
The mafia prince remembered that it was her daily schedule to be taken to the gardens for playing, thus despite glaring at the pea laughing in his embrace he still took her out. It was most certain looking at Ajax and Alaina that had gone to office in a hurry that there might be some urgent matters that need their utmost attention so for now…only this one time he will play with Aurora.
Bamboo covered, wooden platform constructed in the middle of the green forest-like space was used as a canopy covering from rain that was prominent in the area that the Axaina palace was situated in. Under the mahogany structure there were waterproof mats for sitting along with a cabinet of glass situated in the middle which had a miniature terrain inside it.
Algae growing along with various grasses and lotus succulents were placed inside the miniature model to make it look like a mythical realm.
After the doctors informed Ajax about the trauma that Aurora was currently fighting with he had come up with this idea to keep her mind occupied with several never seen things everyday so that she might feel happy.
What was wealth to a little girl of three?
It was not a necessity to give her such gifts yet her adoptive parents had put all their efforts into this so that it might make a difference. Alaina after the construction of this small model had asked the sculptor to cut a small opening where a small glass gate would be connected and then the very next day, a mother daughter pair were seen in the gardens at night with their gloves on along with an insect net for catching fireflies to put inside the terrain.
For now the green realm was unlighted and Aurora more interested in the big ball in her brother’s hand.
“You throw this ball at me and I will catch it for you.”
“Aye!” The bubbling baby threw the big ball as light as a balloon at him and just a moment later the guard standing nearby brought several small toys for them saying that they were the usual ones that Aurora played with.
Ares had brought along a p*t of porridge that his mother had asked him specifically to feed Aurora and also two small lunch boxes that she packed for both of them.
Sitting under the bluest of skies with calm blowing winds with homemade lunch boxes that had their favorite sandwiches and yogurt on the mat and playing.
Ares could not understand but he felt something was wrong as he looked at the fairy dress of his sister that she wore instead of her usual silk gowns that looked silly and cute on her. Even the usual pink hairband was replaced with a pair of cherry hairpins.
What kind of emergency his parents had to leave this little devil and him with pre prepared items…was he tricked to come on a picnic just now.
