Chapter 126

Selene's POV 

I clutched my bag close to my chest, glancing backward every second. 

Fear gripped me, goosebumps spread all over my body. Someone was definitely following me and I swear I saw a shadow.

Lord, help me. I prayed silently in my mind. 

It was just 8pm but everywhere was dark. Alice wasn't here since she left earlier after her morning shift. 

I shoved my phone out of my bag, dialing Alice's number. It kept ringing but she wasn't picking up.

Then I dialed the emergency number but before it could go through, I felt someone grab my throat from behind.

I turned to ice, my bag fell to the ground. I'm dead. 

"Please don't hurt me." I choked but the stranger chuckled instead, gagging me. 

The pathway was empty and it would be useless crying for help. BBC warned against passing through this way during dark but I felt nothing would happen to me and I could scale this through. <
