Chapter 26

Alessandro’s POV

I sat on the sofa, crossing my legs as I puffed out smoke from the cigar in between my fingers.

Amelia was there, tied around a metal chair in front of me. The more her tears reached my ears, the more I got angrier.

Does she think she could buy my sympathy with that?

“I’m going to ask you for the last time, Amelia. Why do you want to escape here when I’ve clearly warned you to never try it!” I fired at her, my fist tightening as I angrily shoved the cigarette out of my mouth.

Her tears increased and she lifted her chin to look at me.

“Alessandro.” She began, her voice low and remorseful. I know I’ve warned her never to address me by my name but I’ve been lenient with her lately, allowing her do whatever she wants.

Now, she thinks I’m a friend, right? A puppet that would dance to her tunes?

I cut into her words, my voice husky and tone deadly. “You might lose your head the next time I hear you call my name.”
