That Night

Nuka just about steps out of the Alpha’s office when the alarm resonates, its clanging noise loud enough to burst eardrums.

Immediately, Alpha North leaps from his chair and is out the door in seconds, barking at standstill teenagers to get indoors before he breaks in a run towards the canyon.

He meets Major Sandcastle past the Musclehouse and together they speed walk down and across the plot of land separating theirs from Blue Sun.

“What’s the situation?”

“Nineteen Blue Sun including their Alpha have been spotted near our territory. A patrol duty has been sent to the Winter Forest in case they’re planning a dual infiltration.”

“Any sign of hostility?”

“None as of yet. But I regret to inform you that considering their number, the Blue Sun omegas in our possession have been deployed as backup.”

A curse leaves his lips. “Hopefully we won’t need them.”
