PRECIOUS' POV

IT IS ALMOST LIKE déjà vu. Alpha North is woken up by urgent knocking on his door. The sound doesn't ease him out of his slumber. It shatters his rest and he is immediately in tiredness.

He wants to think he imagined it. Maybe he had a nightmare and the brutality of it woke him up, made him think he is hearing things. After all, Kamil is sound asleep.

Luck is not on his side tonight. No, this morning so tells the clock. On this side of two fifteen a.m, luck is fast asleep too. The knocking continues its insistent rapping and Precious reluctantly rolls away.

He sits up, fighting off sleep—dozing for a second too long, his sluggish brain too slow to work with his body. Goddess, he is as heavy as lead.

The bed shifts under him and he stirs, blinking open sleep heavy eyes at the ceiling. He is lying on his back, unsure of when he fell asleep. He sneaks a peek at the clock. Either he is reading it right or his brain is
