Chapter 80. Dinner and Chaos
Rae:
I don’t know when I fell asleep. One moment I was tangled up with him on the couch, breathless and weak, and the next—
A shift. Warm breath against my neck. A gentle squeeze around my waist.
I stir.
S blinks awake just as I do, arms still wrapped around me, skin warm and bare beneath his half-buttoned shirt. The evening sky has dimmed into a deep navy, violet streaks bleeding into darkness. The curtains shift gently in the wind, carrying in the scent of charcoal and spice.
“Good evening, lovebirds.”
Eliza’s voice slices through the haze. I jolt upright, tugging the throw blanket up to my chin with a gasp.
She stands by the kitchen door in a pale apron with floral ruffles, one brow arched, a wooden spoon in hand and a devilish grin stretching across her face.
“Our sex maniacs are finally awake,” she says.
S groans beside me, rubbing a hand across his face. I want to melt into the couch.
“Eliza—”
“Shower,” she says
