There wasn’t anyone who didn’t know how hard, how nearly impossible it was to get to the Nightstalker’s pack.
They were powerful. The most powerful in the Northern region. Just like we were the most powerful in the Southern region.
Fierce in their defenses. Deadly in their silence.
But I wasn’t going there for a fight. I wasn’t coming with men, or weapons, or armies. I wasn’t going to start a war.
I was going back for my wife.
That was all.
And if I didn’t succeed… if I didn’t make it to her, if I failed at the gates or the woods or the walls—then so be it.
At least I’d know I tried. With everything I had.
Lucian had begged to come with me. Again and again. He tried to reason with me, tried to make me understand that I wouldn’t make it there alone. That I’d need help.
But no.
I didn’t need help to win back the love of my life. I ruined it with my own hands, and I’d get it back with those same hand
