Soft rays of the sun crept inside Valen's room through the window. They filtered through the smallest holes of the thin curtain and spread, and cascaded on the tiles of her room.

She stirred in her sleep as some memories of Ryley crossed her mind. She saw him hugging her protectively while his eyes fearfully looked before them. Valen saw themselves in the same place as that of that night in the forest when they lost Vivian during the perilous fight with Zalreth.
