Chapter 76. Playful Talks

Adele's POV

"Mateo has been insisting that I meet up with you ever since I called you on your birthday but I keep forgetting," Veronica explained with a chuckle and I smiled. 

"I forgot to call you back too," I told her before looking down at my lap. 

"I wanted to meet up with you actually but I just kept on forgetting since I arrived back," I added and Veronica's face went into one of confusion. 

"Arrived back? From where?" She questioned and my mouth went into a round shape in realization. 

She had no idea that Chris took me out to Maui for my birthday. 

"I will tell you about it later-," I started and the old Veronica I knew popped in instantly. 

"No! Tell me now." She whined and I shook my head. 

I took a glance at Chris and I knew I can not say it with him here. Veronica would always say what was on her mind and some really shy things happened on that trip that she might scream about.
