Chapter 133

Kitty's POV

Kitty knew from the way Jason rushed out of there that he wasn't right like he said. It was clear as day. He was freaking out like she did, only that he didn't want her to know about it. She thought he was being brave by letting her work on the case, but now, after seeing his face, it was clear that he thought she was delusional in deciding to go ahead. He wasn't lying when he said he understood her reason for working on the case, but it didn't mean he was going to be happy about it.

She was torn, and she didn't know what to do. She wanted to go comfort him but knew that would make him angry, and he would change his mind about this. He was suffering there, and he needed her, but he was too stubborn to admit that. She, of course, knew the implications of what she was doing; she was knowingly putting her family in danger because if a victim, that was stupid. She didn't need anybody to tell her that.
