They are sniffing around me, and they would be looking for you, so we will need to throw them off our scent in the meantime; it would serve us good to be careful, and that means this would be the last time I would be calling you."

This was what Mrs. Dante told her right before she hung, she understood the reason why she was saying that because she was being stalked by someone who claimed to be my brother. She could see how that would be scary for her, but holding off the case was a good idea because they were all sniffing around to see if there would be a slip-up to reveal where she was and to know who was responsible for this whole thing.
