Chapter 44. Chris Came to See Her

The next morning, Beverley woke up late because she had slept too late last night. She quickly got ready to go to work. As she was putting her makeup kit into her bag, Brent woke up.

He frowned when he saw Beverley busy. This was the weekend. Why did she still have to go to work?

"Why?" Beverley asked while putting on her high heels. "I can't come home early unless it's urgent."

Brent snorted at that. He suddenly remembered something. “Evelyn will be getting married soon and quitting her job. I can let you take her place,” he said.
