Chapter 33. The Mission

LUCAS KNIGHT 

The mission is simple: kill Vera Knight and leave no traces behind. I never thought I would become a murderer but I have to do this to win my Grandfather's trust. I need him to hand over the ownership of the company to me. 

I knock on Vera's door but find it open. I walk in and slowly start searching for her. The house is a mess, everything is scattered. It looks like a hurricane hit here.

“Vera!" 

I look around, wondering what could have caused the havoc when I notice blood on the ground. I trail the blood and it leads me to a badly bleeding Vera holding a knife in her throat. 

I don't even wait to check if she is alive or not before I rush out of there. I am a fucking coward.

Looks like someone beat me to my mission, or this was all a plan of my Grandfather to pin her death on me.

I run out of the premises and go back to the Knight's mansion.

My Grandfather welcomes me with a smile when I get home. “
