Chapter 146. Revelation and Reconciliation

This was a secret I kept from everyone including my father. He thought that I went to a plastic surgeon to have my face changed, but what he didn't know was that I dropped our initial arrangement at the last minute.

Since my face wasn't marred by the accident, I decided to hold onto it while I put up a facade.

I pleaded with the surgeon to make a face mask that would fit my facial structure. He agreed since it was my desire, and the only time I was tempted to take off the mask was when I saw Dexter again after two years.

"What are you up to?" He shifted uncomfortably as I shut my eyes and peeled the mask off, revealing my true identity.

He gasped, shrinking backward as his hand flew to his lip.

"You didn't undergo any surgery?"

"Apparently, I didn't. I was too much in love with my face to have it redone." I replied nonchalantly.

"I can't believe this, Lorraine. Why didn't you just tell me the truth?"

"I couldn't
