The day I’d been waiting for so long had finally arrived. The day that Piper and I would become one and legitimate before God and everyone. I would introduce Piper and the kids to all my family, colleagues, and the community.

The dreams and hopes that I’d harbored for so long would soon come true. Finally, someone to keep me company at night. Cry, laugh, and grow old together.
